97 Points – Platinum awarded by Decanter
This recognition is especially meaningful because the 2023 vintage represents an important chapter in Alexana’s history. It was the first vintage produced during our transition to organic certification, reflecting our belief that the world’s great wines begin with healthy vineyards and thoughtful stewardship of the land.

2023 Alexana ‘Estate Vineyard’
ESTATE PINOT NOIR
97 Points – Decanter
This wine is serious and unmistakably Dundee Hills in its lightness but structured and concentrated showing the power of the Alexana Estate. The winemaking during this vintage used short ferments, extended maceration, whole cluster lots, de la stage treatments, uninoculated fermentations and many more techniques encompassed in this Estate bottling. It contains notes of raspberry, cherry, tobacco, cocoa powder, white pepper on the nose with bright acidity with bright red fruit on the palate.
Alexana Estate Vineyard
An Oregon “Grand Cru” in the making.
Established in 2005, the estate captures the full potential of the Dundee Hills’ western slopes. 32 vineyard blocks spanning 50 acres from 360 to 640 feet in elevation, the vineyard is among the most geologically diverse in North America, with 22 distinct soil types woven across rolling hills and steep, rugged terrain. Ancient marine sedimentary and volcanic soils converge to create wines of depth, energy, and complexity.
A Vineyard twice recognized in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of the World (#14 and #17), Alexana continues to define the benchmark for Dundee Hills Pinot Noir.
Delicate red flower, rosehip and raspberry fragrance sprawls across the nose and encircles the elegant charred oak frame. Stylish, well-defined cherry and plum fruit emulsifies the juicy acidity and pliant tannins and embraces the smoky finish.

Organic farming
Together, these two vineyards offer a vibrant tapestry of flavors. Regenerative farming practices and meticulous hand-harvesting ensure each block’s individual character is preserved. The grapes are fermented and aged separately, allowing their unique personalities to fully develop before being brought together into this final ‘Mosaic’ of Pinot Noir.
We treat the land as a dynamic, ever-evolving system—carefully monitored like the wine in our barrels—while eliminating plowing to maximize carbon sequestration and soil health through rich microbial life. Guided by data and continuous learning, our approach honors the interconnectedness of all living things and reflects our responsibility to steward the land for future generations.
Winemakers
Our winemaking team, Tresider Burns and Julia Cresto, work with more than 11 clones for this 2023 vintage. After being triple hand sorted, these wines are then aged for 11 months in 100% French oak barrels.
