Luciano Bastias has emerged as one of the great young winemakers in the world with an impressive resume working in some of the world’s legendary cellars, from Bordeaux to Napa Valley to the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley. He was recently acclaimed in Tim Atkin’s 2025 Argentina Wine Report as ‘Argentina’s Best Young Winemaker of the Year.’
Luciano joined Corazón del Sol as Assistant Winemaker in 2016 and in his first two vintages produced back-to-back TOP 100 wines of the world (2016 and 2017 ‘Gran Reserva’ Estate Malbec).
Luciano is thoughtful and intuitive in his winemaking approach and his relentless pursuit of knowledge has led to unique winemaking opportunities across the globe. His winemaking experience has led him to Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Pinot Noir powerhouse, Alexana Estate in Oregon, and five harvests alongside superstar Napa Valley Winemaker, Thomas Rivers-Brown at Revana Estate and Mending Wall.
Luciano has developed a reputation as the “Rhône Whisperer’ of Argentina, having produced many of the top-rated Rhône variety wines in all of Argentina and having the unique experience managing the oldest vineyards of Grenache, Mourvedre, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Marasanne in Los Chacayes.
